Applications
HUD, short for Head-Up Display, can also be referred to as a heads-up display. Its predecessor was the optical display on airplanes, which utilizes optical reflection principles to project navigation information onto the windshield in front of the driver.
With technological advancements, the automotive industry has adopted HUD technology, projecting driving information, navigation data, ADAS, and other information in the form of images and characters onto the front windshield. This creates a virtual image in the driver's field of view, allowing them to obtain real-time driving information without adjusting their line of sight, thereby ensuring driving safety.
The working principle of automotive HUD involves reflecting digital images onto two mirrors (Fold mirror and Aspheric Mirror), then projecting them onto the windshield through the Aspheric Mirror. The driver receives current vehicle information such as speed and time through the windshield, eliminating the need to lower their head to check the dashboard.
The reflector, as a key optical reflection component of HUD, is precisely installed in a specific position on the HUD module through slot alignment and adhesive bonding. Any loosening or misalignment of the reflector can lead to changes in the final projection position, affecting the actual and design effects.
Typical Products:
CollTech provides N-Sil 8556 specifically for HUD reflector bonding, ensuring high-strength adhesion to firmly attach the reflector to the HUD bracket without displacement. Once cured, it exhibits exceptional toughness, capable of withstanding the vehicle's operational vibrations and absorbing mechanical stress impacts on the reflector, ensuring long-term safe and reliable reflector operation.
N-Sil 8556 features include:
Excellent bonding characteristics with most substrates, including PC, PC/ABS, Glass, AL, etc.
Excellent point bonding performance on any curved interface.
Superior sealing performance meeting IP67 requirements.
High toughness with a fracture elongation rate >200%.
Does not contain tin compounds.
Complies with VOC standards and does not affect indoor air quality in vehicles.
